Slippery Rock University junior cross country star Marianne Abdalah was recently named PSAC Women's Cross Country Athlete of the Year. She became the second SRU female to win the award, following Joan Anderson in 1995. Abdalah was the top finisher for SRU in every race she ran this season and excelled in postseason events, finishing third overall at the PSAC Championships to earn first-team all-conference honors. She also placed second overall at the Atlantic Region Championships to earn all-region accolades. At nationals, she was 83rd in one of the most talented fields in Division II history.
