Government lags behind on nuclear funding
Poland is planning to build a new reactor every two years and by 2040 six nuclear reactors should be up an running.
International Energy Agency (IEA) expects the electricity demand will rise from 19% to 24%. Our neighbor Canada, has signed a deal with GE to build a new reactor. Rolls-Royce, the British jet engine maker, is planning to build 16 nuclear power plants.
According to the World Nuclear Association, there are 448 operating civilian reactors and another 53 under construction.
However, almost all of these are being built in eastern Europe and Asia, including China, more reactors than the entire western world combined.
Bill Gates and Warren Buffet are constructing a new type of nuclear plant, but we need to construct many more.
The Build Back Better Bill allocates $320 billion in tax credits over 10 years for wind, solar and nuclear. Considering it costs $6-10 billion to build one nuclear power plant, the bill falls light-years short to kick start the construction of nuclear power.
Westinghouse sold its Cranberry Township facility and outsourced their jobs to Poland. If we don’t wake up from this green energy madness, more jobs will be lost to foreign markets and at some point, inflation will cause Americans to ration electricity.
Without additional nuclear power plants, windmill and solar will never meet the energy demands of transportation, manufacturing, heating, cooling and everyday needs of more than 331 million Americans.
