Firefighters from five counties respond to three-alarm fire at Emlenton business
Fire departments from Butler County and four other counties responded Sunday to a three-alarm fire at Hovis Truck Repair in Emlenton, Venango County, that destroyed the company's main building.
Emlenton Fire Department was initially called around 4:01 a.m. to the scene at 6010 Emlenton Clintonville Road.
Upon arrival, firefighters found the business' main building, which includes several commercial truck bays, a retail area and offices, engulfed in flame, according to Emlenton Fire Chief Trevor Hile.
Hile said it took crews “several hours” to knock down the flames, and there was a small reignition closer to noon.
From Butler County, fire crews from Eau Claire, Bruin, North Washington, Marion Township, Harrisville, Petrolia, Chicora, West Sunbury and Slippery Rock assisted at the scene.
About 14 departments from Venango, Clarion, Armstrong and Mercer counties also responded.
According to Hile, no one was inside the building at the time of the fire.
