Jan. 9 — Joseph E. Waldroup, 35, of Butler, was charged with misdemeanor simple assault, related to a domestic incident at his home on Virginia Avenue.

Waldroup’s girlfriend allegedly told officers that he hit her in the face and pulled her hair. Police said she had a bleeding lip. She told police Waldroup then went upstairs and hit his head on something.

Police said Waldroup denied hitting his girlfriend and accused her of hitting him. Police said the girlfriend’s story was more consistent with the injuries.

Jan. 7 — Melissa M. Ofchinick, 47, of Butler, was charged with misdemeanor simple assault, related to a Jan. 6 incident at her apartment on West Jefferson Street.

Ofchinick’s boyfriend allegedly told officers that she tried to stab him and slammed his hand in a door. Police said the boyfriend had a red mark on his right hip and his hand was bruised and swollen.

Jan. 6 — Jamil M. Carr, 22, of McKeesport, was charged with felony forgery related to counterfeit bills discovered Jan. 5 at Dollar General.

Police said they received a report Jan. 5 that a man bought a $100 prepaid credit card using counterfeit $20 bills. Police said they received a call Jan. 6 reporting the same man returned, and they arrived while he was still in the store.

Police said they identified the man as Carr, and video surveillance showed the Jan. 5 purchase.

Jan. 6 — Brian S. Schuller, 50, of Freeport, was charged with misdemeanor terroristic threats and harassment, related to a domestic incident involving his former wife.

The ex-wife allegedly gave police a statement claiming Schuller made multiple threatening statements, including those about killing her, hurting her and damaging her property.

Jan. 6 — Michael M. Nuttall, 51, of Cabot, was charged with a first-offense DUI following a Dec. 31 two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Route 8 and Route 228 in Middlesex Township.

Police said they smelled alcohol coming from Nuttall, and field sobriety tests showed he was impaired.

Police said a later breath test showed Nuttall’s blood-alcohol content at .238%, and in Pennsylvania a level of .08% or greater is considered intoxicated.

2:25 p.m. Jan. 7 — Christopher N. Mathews, 38, of Cabot, was arrested and charged with misdemeanor terroristic threats, resisting arrest, reckless endangerment and disorderly conduct after multiple reports about a man jumping in and out of traffic.

Police said they spoke with Mathews, who began causing a scene, and when they went to arrest him, he resisted. Police said during transport, Mathews told one of the troopers, “You’re dead.”

Police said Mathews has been cited several times in the past for disorderly conduct, related to jumping into traffic.
