State Police, Butler
Jan. 7 — Lance L. Hess, 53, of Chicora, was charged with felony third-offense DUI, stemming from a Nov. 28 traffic stop on Route 68 in Oakland Township.
Police said they stopped the vehicle for crossing lines on the road, and field sobriety tests showed he was impaired.
Police said a later blood test showed buprenorphine in Hess’ system and a blood-alcohol content of 0.206%, and in Pennsylvania a level of 0.08% or greater is considered intoxicated.
Jan. 6 — Savannah A. Kurimski Artzberger II, 24, of Slippery Rock, was charged with felony aggravated assault and misdemeanor simple assault and harassment, related to the alleged stabbing Dec. 18 of her boyfriend.
Police said the boyfriend was treated at Butler Memorial Hospital, where he told officers Kurimski Artzberger stabbed him with a knife during an argument.
Police said the boyfriend was stabbed in the arm.
Jan. 3 — Alexander V. Lecce, 23, of Gibsonia, was charged with a first-offense DUI, stemming from a Nov. 30 traffic stop on West Jefferson Road in Jefferson Township.
Police said they stopped the vehicle for failing to stop at a stop sign. Police said they smelled marijuana in the vehicle, and field sobriety tests showed Lecce was impaired.
Police said a later blood test showed marijuana in Lecce’s system.
Jan. 3 — Two women were charged for drugs found inside a vehicle during an Aug. 18 traffic stop on Route 28 near South Pike Road in Buffalo Township.
Jamie Fae Gustafson, 36, of Coalport, and Delta D. Shomo, 37, of Altoona, were charged with misdemeanor drug and paraphernalia possession.
Police said they stopped the vehicle for crossing lines on the road, and while checking the pair’s identities, they found Gustafson had an active warrant for drugs.
Police said they searched the vehicle and found a bundle of suspected heroin laying on the back floor and empty stamp bags in a purse in the back. Police said neither woman claimed the drugs or paraphernalia.
