Chicora man killed Saturday in Armstrong County crash
A Chicora man died in a vehicle crash Saturday in Armstrong County, according to officials.
Armstrong County Coroner Brian K. Myers released information about the crash that killed Jamie T. Pyle, 51, of Chicora.
Myers said around 10 p.m. Saturday, Pyle was driving east on Route 68 in Bradys Bend Township, Armstrong County, when his Jeep Wrangler veered across the road, hit an embankment and rolled multiple times.
“(Pyle) was ejected and was not wearing his seatbelt,” Myers said.
Armstrong County Deputy Coroner Timothy S. Graham pronounced Pyle dead at the scene with the cause later determined as blunt force trauma to the head and torso.
Myers said alcohol and speed are being considered as factors; however, toxicology results will not be available for several weeks.
Assisting at the scene were state police and Sugarcreek Volunteer Fire Department and Ambulance services.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Hile Funeral Home in Chicora.
According to his obituary, Pyle was a 1988 graduate of Karns City Area High School, and he was employed by J.S.P. Industries for almost 20 years.
The notice said Pyle enjoyed hunting, fishing, demolition derbies and live music, especially Outlaw Country.
