Lydia D. Kersten, 89, of Lyndora, passed away Saturday evening, while residing at Sunnyview Home.

Born Jan. 4, 1933, in Butler, she was a daughter of the late Edward Konar and Lela (Hepler) Konar.

Lydia was a graduate of Butler High School, and had worked at Jack ‘n Jill Cleaners, before working for Nationwide Insurance, where she retired from.

She was a member of the former St. Fidelis Parish in Butler, and enjoyed cooking, camping, dancing, taking scenic rides and spending time with family.

Surviving is her daughter, Karen (Kersten) Gertsner; two granddaughters, Connie Bell and Kristina (Jamie) Fischer; four grandchildren, Marissa Mae and Jacob Bell, and Lela and Madelyn Fischer; and one great-granddaughter, Amaya.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne E. Kersten; two brothers; two sisters; and one granddaughter.

KERSTEN — Friends of Lydia D. Kersten, who died Saturday, Jan. 15, 2022, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 22, 2022, at GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler.

A blessing service will follow at 4 p.m. at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Butler.
