With the forecast calling for the overnight low Friday to be 0 degrees, the Salvation Army in Butler is opening a warming station from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at its location at 313 W. Cunningham St.

Major Darlene Means said the station will have coffee, tea, hot cocoa and pastries and will be open to anyone who needs to escape the single-digit temperatures predicted for Saturday morning.

People can also come to the Salvation Army to get warm from 8:30 a.m. to noon Sunday, Means said, but they will be expected to attend the regularly scheduled church services.
