Parts arrive for high school addition

Steel beams began arriving at Butler Senior High School Wednesday morning that will form a gymnasium, the first piece of its planned addition.

The high school is being renovated to accommodate the district’s ninth-grade class for next semester, and construction will begin on the gym Friday.

The rest of the 19,000-square-foot wing project includes 10 new classrooms, including a science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) space; woodshops; 3D printers; and additional technology.
