Marilyn Ion

Marilyn Ion, 67, of Butler, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 23, 2021.

She was born on Sept. 17, 1954, in Mansfield, Ohio, and was the daughter of the late James and Jean (Shaw) June.

Marilyn worked as a school bus driver for almost 20 years.

She enjoyed racing Corvettes, her dogs, Ziggy and the late Max, and spending time with her family and friends. She was known for her selflessness and her giving heart.

Marilyn was the beloved mother of Jerry Bodish and Kristoffer (Blace Shaffer) Ion; the sister of Patricia (Nick) Oprea and Beverly Greenert; the grandmother of Jerry Jr., Ronald, Anthony, Carson and Fallon; and the aunt of KB.

She is also survived by a loving family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved grandson, Dakota; and her sister, Susan Sutton.

ION — Friends of Marilyn Ion, who died Thursday, Dec. 23, 2021, will be received from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at SPENCER D. GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 140 New Castle Road, Butler.

A prayer service will immediately follow in the funeral home.
