Diane E. Henkel

Diane E. Henkel, 87, of Cabot, passed away on Dec. 29, 2021, at Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born March 18, 1934, in Leechburg, she was the daughter of James Preto and Ruth Gundlach Preto.

Diane had worked in the cafeteria at Winfield Elementary and also at Du-Co Ceramics.

She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Sarver, where she had served as organist and choir director, and was an active member of the Ladies Guild.

She enjoyed gardening, sewing, knitting and crafting.

Surviving are her children, Walter M. Henkel Jr. of Butler, Shawn C. (Judy) Henkel of Cabot, and Melissa (Hobie) Kenton of Cabot; three sisters, Juanita Neart of Louisville, Ky., Nancy (Clyde) Altman of Cabot and Candice Thompson of Louisville, Ky.; six grandchildren, Wade, Josh, Stephanie, Matthew, Shawna and Taylor; and one great-grandson, Jesse.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Walter M. Henkel Sr., who passed away on March 6, 2002; and her daughter, Valerie K. Fincher.

HENKEL — Friends of Diane E. Henkel, who died Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2021, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Fox Funeral Home, 410 W. Main St., Saxonburg.

Additional visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 409 Sarver Road, Sarver, where funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Shawn Smith officiating.

Interment will follow in Sarversville Cemetery.
