Estranged husband charged with sending lewd photos
A Clay Township man is accused of taking lewd photographs of his sleeping, estranged wife and sending them to her multiple times in June.
State police filed charges Wednesday against Adam M. Gould, 38, including two misdemeanor counts of invasion of privacy.
Gould has been in Butler County Prison on $75,000 bond after he was arrested June 13 for allegedly assaulting the same woman. The two cases are separate filings.
According to charging documents, Gould’s estranged wife filed a report with state police Sept. 25 regarding the photographs. Police said the woman received the first of the photographs June 11 and continued receiving them leading up to the alleged assault June 13.
“Adam later sent a video and several photographs to (her) on multiple different dates,” said the investigating trooper in the affidavit.
Police said the estranged wife told troopers she believes the photographs were taken when the two were staying together to work on their marriage. She told troopers she did not give Gould permission to take the photos.
Police said they spoke with Gould about the photos, and he admitted to taking them sometime before June 13.
“(Gould) advised he sent the photos to her on more than one occasion to reiterate that she has a problem with drinking and that this could be what happens to her when she drinks,” police said.
For the latest charges, Gould is scheduled for a preliminary hearing March 1 before District Judge Lewis Stoughton.
Gould is also awaiting trial for the alleged June 13 assault.
Police accuse Gould of breaking into a bathroom and threatening his estranged wife with a pistol, then later strangled and smashed her head against a car window.
Jury selection for that case is scheduled March 10 in Butler County Common Pleas Court.
