Butler Township applying for parks grant
BUTLER TWP — Commissioners voted Monday to apply for a $10,000 county grant to add new lights to the pickleball courts at Butler Township Park.
Butler Township administrator Tom Knights said the most recent estimate for the project is $40,000, so the $10,000 through the county will help with the cost.
The deadline to apply for the grant is the end of this month, according to Knights. He also said he expects grants to be awarded in May.
“The intent of the program is revitalization, renovation and development,” Knights said. “We have applied many years and have been very successful.”
