Anna E. “Betty” Blackmore, 99, of Tarentum, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 6, 2022.

She was the beloved wife of the late Charles Franklin Blackmore; loving mother of Paula Birnie of Oklahoma, Charles “Skip” (Linda) Blackmore of East Deer Township, and the late Richard Dennis Blackmore; the grandmother of Janet (Brett Puckett) Birnie, Gayle (Michael) Cochran, Doug (Laura) Birnie and Michael Blackmore; great-grandmother of three; aunt of three special nieces, Elizabeth “Liz” (James Coughlin) Hutton, Linda Hutton and Nancy Hutton; and three special nephews, David Hutton, Gary Hutton and Billy Hutton.

In addition to her husband and son, she was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer William Geltz and Elizabeth Hester Jacobs; and her sister, Katherine Mae (Geltz) Hutton.

Betty retired from Sears Department Store after 25 years of service.

She was the past president of the Harding PTA, an elder in her church, and a Girl Scout leader.

BLACKMORE — Friends and family of Anna E. “Betty” Blackmore, who died Thursday, Jan. 6, 2022, will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at ENGLISH FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 378 Maryland Ave., Oakmont.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Slate Lick United Presbyterian Church, 106 Brown Road, Freeport. Everyone is asked to please meet at church.

A luncheon will follow the service to celebrate Betty’s life.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Betty’s name to Mooseheart Child City & School Inc. through their website at www.mooseheart.org.
