4:38 p.m. Feb. 7 — Police responded to a three-vehicle crash in the northbound lanes of Pittsburgh Road near Cleveland Cliffs, Butler Township.
Police said Sydney Johnson, 20, of Butler, was trying to merge onto Pittsburgh Road from the Cleveland Cliffs exit ramp, which caused Lisa Blakley, 52, of Butler to swerve to the left in an attempt to avoid a crash. Police said Blakley’s vehicle grazed the front right corner of a vehicle driven by Matt Silvis, 43, of Kittanning. Police said the contact caused Blakley’s vehicle to hit the center barrier.
Police said Blakley was removed from the vehicle and taken to Butler Memorial Hospital for minor injures, and Johnson and Silvis were uninjured. Police said Johnson was cited for failing to yield to traffic.
Jan. 31 — Brandon E. Kline, 29, of Zelienople, was charged with DUI and disorderly conduct stemming from a Jan. 23 traffic stop on the 100 block of Lindsay Road, Jackson Township.
Police said they stopped the vehicle because it matched the description of one reported to 911 as having a possibly intoxicated driver. Police said they smelled alcohol in the vehicle, and field sobriety tests showed Kline was impaired. Kline declined to have his blood tested.

Feb. 7 — John D. Hughes, 37, of Valencia, was charged in two separate cases, but both involved misdemeanors simple assault.
Police said one case involves an incident Feb. 5 in which Hughes is accused of being drunk and threw a sandwich and spit on his fiancee. The fiancee also told police that on Feb. 4 Hughes also kicked and threatened to kill her dog, and on Dec. 30, Hughes had punched her in the face multiple times.
Police said the other set of charges relate to a Feb. 7 incident. The fiancee told police Hughes was drunk and kicked her out of bed and onto the ground. The fiancee told police Hughes then spat on her multiple times.
Caitlin N. Udy, 30, of Grove City, was charged with DUI stemming from a Jan. 19 vehicle crash on South Main Street, Slippery Rock.
Police said Udy told police she hit a Jeep parked along the street. Police said they smelled alcohol on Udy, and field sobriety tests showed she was impaired. Police said a later blood test showed Udy’s blood-alcohol content at .158%, and in Pennsylvania, a level of .08% or greater is considered intoxicated.
Feb. 9 — Shanna A. Randall, 25, of Butler, was charged with DUI stemming from a Jan. 20 vehicle crash on 1400 block of Mars Evans City Road, Forward Township.
According to police, witnesses saw the vehicle cross lines on the road before driving off the road and into an embankment. Police said Randall smelled of alcohol, and field sobriety tests showed she was impaired. Police said Randall later refused to have her blood tested.
2:30 p.m. Feb. 7 — Davion L. Morgan, 18, a student at Summit Academy, was charged with felony aggravated assault and misdemeanor simple assault for an incident with his teacher.
Police said Morgan’s teacher told troopers that Morgan punched her in the knee as he was entering the classroom. Police said the teacher reported injuries following the strike.
Feb. 7 — Kurt A. Birckbichler, 48, of Slippery Rock, was charged with DUI stemming from a Jan. 15 traffic stop on the 100 block of Hungarian Road, Cherry Township.
Police said at the scene, they found a truck parked stopped in the middle of the road and blocking traffic. Police said they smelled alcohol on the driver, Birckbichler, and field sobriety tests showed he was impaired. Police said a later blood test showed Birckbichler’s blood-alcohol content at .333%, and in Pennsylvania, a level of .08% or greater is considered intoxicated.
Feb. 3 — Laura M.R. Kipp, 35, of Lawrenceville, was charged with felonies theft and possessing stolen property related to a stolen U-Haul.
Police said Kipp rented a U-Haul truck from Murdick Auto Parts in Connoquenessing Township, and she failed to return it. Police said Lawrenceville Police contacted their department and told them the stolen vehicle was found at Kipp’s home.
Feb. 2 — Melissa A. Schrecengost, 49, of Butler, was charged with DUI stemming from a Nov. 28 traffic stop on Evans City Road near Eagle Mill Road, Connoquenessing Township.
Police said they stopped the vehicle for crossing lines on the road. Police sad they smelled alcohol in the vehicle, and field sobriety tests showed she was impaired.
Police said a later blood test showed her blood-alcohol content at .165%, and in Pennsylvania, a level of .08% or greater is considered intoxicated.
