SLIPPERY ROCK — Butler graduate Tyler Frederick tallied 28 points and 15 rebounds in his final home game Wednesday night as Slippery Rock University’s men’s basketball team defeated Edinboro, 79-72, at Morrow Field House.
SRU (17-10, 13-8) won its sixth game in a row.
The Rock is the fifth-seed in the upcoming PSAC Tournament and will play on the road in the first round Monday.
Amante Britt scored 19 points and had three assists for SRU. Jonathan McFall contributed 14 points and blocked four shots.
Deontae Robertson led Edinboro with 17 points and 10 rebounds.
Edinboro 77, SRU (women) 66 — Kennedy Middleton scored a career-high 24 points and grabbed five rebounds, but SRU fell to 11-16 overall, 6-15 in the PSAC West. Daeja Quick scored 19 points and had four steals, Jamiyah Johnson 16 points, 18 rebounds, four assists and three steals.
Edinboro improved to 13-10 overall, 11-9 in league play.
Both Rock teams close the regular season Saturday at Mercyhurst.
