State police investigating fatal Connoquenessing Township fire
State police fire marshals are investigating an early Sunday morning fire that claimed one life in Connoquenessing Township.
The fire at 213 Reiber Road started at 1:18 a.m. Police said one person died in the fire.
Neighbors said some members of the family who owned the home were inside when the fire started. The neighbors said they tried to enter the home to reach one of the homeowners, but they were unable to because of the heavy smoke and fire.
The Connoquenessing Township, Prospect and Butler township volunteer fire departments responded to the fire. They were at the scene for about four hours.
