‘The Wizard of Oz’ at Karns City

Follow the yellow brick road to Karns City High School’s production of “The Wizard of Oz” in the high school auditorium at 7:30 p.m. Thursday and Friday and at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Saturday.

Tickets are still available for $10 apiece by calling 724-756-2030, ext. 1339.

The show is directed by Beth Ackelson, with musical direction by Alison Carey.

Alyse Everly is choreographer, with lighting by Amy and Patrick Parker, and sound by Jennifer Martin.

Courtney McGrady is stage manager, and Lori Martin is assistant to the director.

Members of the stage crew include Shadowlynn Reges-Pollarine, Connor Christie and Brayden Edwards.

Based on the book by L. Frank Baum released in 1900, “The Wizard of Oz” follows naive Dorothy and her dog, Toto, on a journey from Kansas to the magical land of Oz. Desperate to find her way home, Dorothy meets munchkins, the Scarecrow, the Tin Man and the Cowardly Lion on her way to meet the Wizard, as she follows the yellow brick road to Emerald City and seeks to defeat the Wicked Witch of the West.
