Mustello, Chamber hosting identity theft seminar
State Rep. Marci Mustello, R-11th, and the Butler County Chamber of Commerce are hosting a free identity theft seminar March 8 beginning at 7 p.m. at the Butler Township Park Building, 468 South Butler Road.
“Identity theft is one of the fastest-growing crimes across the commonwealth and we need to put a stop to it,” said Mustello. “Identity thieves often strike when you least expect it, so it is crucial to avoid taking the security of your personal data for granted. As you take steps to protect your information and identity, you'll make yourself a more difficult target for thieves and may even stop them in their tracks.”
A representative from the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office will conduct the seminar and answer questions. Topics include recognizing signs of identity theft, protection against identity theft and what victims can do.
