BUTLER TWP — Friends and neighbors attended the first spaghetti dinner fundraiser for the Butler County Sheriff’s Mounted Posse on Saturday afternoon.

Gail Leopold, captain of the horse-riding security posse, said the goal of the event at American Legion Post 778, 150 Legion Memorial Lane, was to raise funds for needed materials.

“We’re responsible for buying our shirts, badges, whistles. This is to help us buy equipment like saddlebags and uniforms,” she said.

Those attending had their choice between a takeout or dine-in meal with spaghetti, salad and dessert. People also used the opportunity to participate in raffles.
