Man leaves behind USB containing child porn at ex’s home

After a breakup, a former Muddy Creek Township man left behind devices containing child pornography at his ex’s home.

State police Monday filed 36 felony counts of child pornography against Cecil J. Shuck, 42, of Richmond, Va. Shuck has yet to be arraigned on the charges, and it is unknown if he has been arrested.

According to charging documents, Shuck and his "romantic partner“ broke up Jan.6, and Shuck moved to Richmond on Jan. 22.

“(Shuck’s former partner) was cleaning items left behind by Shuck so that (he) could return on a later date and take the remainder of his belongings from (the home),” said the investigating trooper in the affidavit. “(The former partner) located a portable USB flash drive in the drawer of a computer desk.”

Police said while the woman was away, another man, who is a roommate of hers, looked on the flash drive and later told the woman there were explicit images on it. The woman told police that when she looked at the drive herself, it contained multiple folders with female names on it.

“The folders contained images of young girls in suggestive poses,” police said.

Police said a digital forensic examiner later discovered that the USB contained 36 totally nude images of children and 824 images classified as “prepubescent modeling.”

According to police, the ex called police the same day the USB’s contents were uncovered.

Police said they arrived at the home in Butler County and searched the desk where the USB was found. Police seized the USB drive as well as a laptop that allegedly belonged to Shuck.

Police said the woman confronted Shuck during a Jan. 31 phone call, and he admitted to her that he knew what was on the USB and had used it to transfer files between his computers.

Following his arraignment on these charges, a preliminary hearing will be scheduled before District Judge Joseph Nash.
