Freedom Road construction to start up again for spring

Drivers wait in traffic at the intersection of Freedom Road and Route 19 in Cranberry. Julia Maruca/Butler Eagle

Freedom Road in Cranberry Township will see continued construction over evenings and weekends beginning March 28, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation announced.

The impacted area is between Haine School Road and Commonwealth Drive/T-995.

A new traffic pattern will be implemented as contractor Gulisek Construction works outside of the shoulder area.

“It won’t be anything overly dramatic — it will just be some lane shifts, and some of the traffic patterns will change as they do the work,” PennDOT spokeswoman Christina Gibbs said.
