Mary Ruth Krahe

Krahe

Mary Ruth Krahe, 92, of Prospect, passed peacefully on to be with the Lord on March 17, 2022, with loving family surrounding her at Good Samaritan Hospice in Cabot.

Born on June 19, 1929, in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of John J. Campbell and Mary Gertrude (Quigley) Campbell.

On June 28, 1951, she married the love of her life, Henry Paul “Pete” Krahe, who predeceased her on June 21, 2013, after nearly 61 years of marriage. A dedicated mother to their six children, whom she loved dearly, her devotion and love of her family and friends could be seen in every aspect of her life.

An amazing cook and hostess, she was the quiet efficient planner behind countless birthday parties, anniversaries and always was up for any reason to gather her family together. She was a master at making everyone feel welcome and had a true gift for bringing out the good in those around her. Along with her quick wit and her great sense of humor, she also was known for her frugality and would not tolerate waste of any kind. She was a woman of great strength and great faith.

A lifelong devout Catholic, she had a beautiful relationship with the Lord. Through the example she lived, she brought many of those who were blessed enough to know her to a greater love and understanding of the Lord.

In addition to her husband, she also was predeceased by her beloved son, James M. Krahe; and her sister, Betty J. Mellet.

Surviving are her son, Henry Paul Krahe II and his wife, Joy Ott Krahe; her daughter, Mary Kay Richardson and her husband, H. Kyle Richardson; her daughter, Nancy Krahe, and her husband, James McGetrick; her son, Mark P. Krahe and his partner, Jane Hirsch; her daughter, Lisa Krahe Young and her husband, Albert Young; her daughter-in-law, Dee Dee Krahe; 17 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and a beautiful plethora of nieces and nephews.
