Police action in Butler Township
Multiple police departments are responding to an ongoing situation Saturday at a home in Butler Township at the intersection of Freeport Road and Center Avenue. Traffic is being restricted on Freeport Road.
There is an armored vehicle in front of the house and people, standing in the snow and sleet, are watching from across the street.
Periodic blasts can be heard.
Police have put up crime scene tape to restrict access to the area. Earlier two dogs were removed from the scene.
The Butler County 911 command center trailer and a county hazardous materials truck are on the scene. In addition to Butler Township, police from Butler city, Zelienople and Jackson Township have responded.
The Family Dollar store has closed because of the situation.
