Mars grad Anderson
homers for Pitt
PITTSBURGH — Mars graduate Jack Anderson had three hits — including his fifth home run of the season — as the University of Pittsburgh baseball team swept a doubleheader from Clemson, 8-0 and 10-7, Friday.
Anderson is hitting .333 with 15 RBI for the Panthers (12-10, 3-5) this season.

in Cager Classic
NATRONA HEIGHTS — Several Butler County high school basketball players will be participating in the 25th Cager Classic All-Star Game activities Friday and Saturday at Highlands High School.
Aubree Tack and Makenna Maier of Butler, Kaitlyn Pelaia and Ava Black of Mars will play for the girls East team while Knoch’s Lily Hawk, Mackenzie McGraw and Madilyn Boyer will play for the West.
Knoch’s Ryan Lang and Freeport’s Jason Kijowski will play for the boys West squad. Butler’s Raine Gratzmiller, Mars’ Zach Schlegel and Chris Dvorak will play for the East.
Skills competition begins at 7 p.m. Friday. The girls game is at 5:45 p.m. Saturday, the boys game at 8 p.m. Tickets are $6 at the door.
Butler grad Schnur
shines for Behrend
ERIE — Butler graduate Cody Schnur tallied nine kills and no errors in the first match, 11 kills and three blocks in the second as the Penn State Behrend men’s volleyball team defeated Saint Vincent and Thiel Saturday.
Schnur, a senior, and graduate student JP Goodsel were honored before the match. Beherend improved to 18-6 overall, 12-1 in Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference play.
