Women dominate Distinguished Service Awards
Two Butler business leaders, both backed by an impressive list of service to the community, have been named 2022 Distinguished Service Award winners.
Tammy Schuey, general manager at the Butler Eagle, earned the senior DSA. She was nominated by Sherry Lynn, local business woman.
Lynn pointed to Schuey’s commitment to the county’s fight against addiction through serving as chairwoman on the Ellen O’Brien Gaiser Addiction Center board of directors and helping to organize the Chicora Family Fun Day, focusing on Drug and Alcohol Awareness.
Schuey also sits on the board of directors at the Golden Tornado Education Foundation and the Butler County Family YMCA. Previously, Schuey was chairwoman of the Butler Family YMCA’s annual Support Campaign, and she served on the Butler County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and is on the Past Presidents Advisory Council.
The junior Distinguished Service Award will go to Audrianna Bly, general manager at SpringHill Suites by Marriott in Butler.
Bly was nominated by Jordan Grady, the chamber’s executive director.
The nomination of Bly emphasizes her work in the Butler AM Rotary Club in leading the Butler Memorial Park Save the Playground project, as well as co-chairing the annual Carved in Ice event and helping form the Saxonburg Rotary Club.
The 72nd Distinguished Service Award dinner and ceremony to formally award Schuey and Bly will be held May 4 at the Butler Country Club.
