Brubaker starting on Opening Day
BRADENTON, Fla. — Pittsburgh Pirates manager Derek Shelton announced Sunday that right-hander JT Brubaker will be the Bucs’ Opening Day starter Thursday in St. Louis.
Brubaker was 5-13 with a 5.36 earned run average last season. He was selected for the Opening Day start over veteran pitcher Jose Quintana, who is in his first year with the team.
Brubaker made his major league debut July 26, 2020, against the Cardinals in St. Louis.
