Olenic

Kathy J. Olenic, 75, of Butler, passed away Monday, April 4, 2022, while residing at New Haven Court.

Born Aug. 25, 1946, in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of the late Casper “Cass” Bach and Elizabeth “Betty” (Foster) Bach.

Kathy was a 1964 graduate of Evans City High School and a 1967 graduate of the Butler Hospital School of Nursing.

She was a registered nurse at Butler Memorial Hospital for 33 years, and worked for the majority of that time in the emergency department. She worked for Orthopedic Associates for 14 years before retiring.

She was a member of All Saints Parish, St. Conrad Roman Catholic Church in Butler.

She enjoyed crafts, reading, traveling with her daughter and spending time with her family and friends.

Surviving is her daughter, Kristen Olenic of Fort Collins, Colo.; her son, Bradley (Kelly) Olenic of Economy; the sunshine of her life, her three grandchildren, Sheridan, Emmitt and Quinn Olenic; her former husband, Martin “Marty” Olenic of Butler; and her brother, Douglas (Jan) Bach of Fombell.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, James Bach, and his wife, Donna.

OLENIC — Friends of Kathy J. Olenic, who died Monday, April 4, 2022, will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler, where a blessing service will be held at 7 p.m. The Rev. Jack Nanz will officiate.
