These items were collected from various police departments.
March 24 — Bruce E. Nevel, 52, of Slippery Rock, was charged with unlawful sale of liquor and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Police said they attempted to purchase wine from Nevel, who admitted to making and selling wine out of his garage in Mercer Township.
March 24 — Timothy M. Risinger, 40, of Butler, was charged with driving with a suspended license.
Police said they responded to a hit-and-run vehicle crash on March 17 near Cedar Road, where the victim said the other vehicle fled the scene. Police located the vehicle, allegedly driven by Risinger, who police said admitted to operating the vehicle under a suspended license.
March 24 — Leighton O. Thorpe, 30, of Butler, was charged with retail theft in relation to an incident on Dec. 19.
Police said they responded to Giant Eagle where a manager said a male attempted to check out $412 worth of groceries with an EBT card, but the funds were insufficient, and he left the store without paying.
Police found Thorpe at his home, where he allegedly said he did not steal groceries on that day and then offered to pay for the groceries.
March 27 — Jacques D. Teixeira, 32, of Cranberry Township, was charged with a first-offense DUI and summary traffic violations after police said he showed signs of impairment during field sobriety tests conducted at a traffic stop on Route 19. Following a later blood test, Teixeira’s blood-alcohol content level was 0.169%. In Pennsylvania, a level of 0.08% is considered intoxicated.
March 25 — Chani C. Watkins, 30, of Coraopolis, was charged with retail theft in relation to an incident Jan. 25.
Police said they met with an asset protection associate at Walmart in Cranberry Township who said Watkins stole a grill valued at $119 and an espresso machine valued at $129.
March 25 — Hunter R. Burkett, 22, of Chicora, was charged with misdemeanor driving under the influence at Clearview Circle, Center Township, after police said Burkett showed signs of impairment during field sobriety tests. A breath test revealed Burkett’s blood-alcohol content level was 0.102%. In Pennsylvania, a level of 0.08% is considered intoxicated.
March 25 — Dawn M. Barnes, 35, of Portersville, was charged with misdemeanor receiving stolen property after police said she had a stolen license plate on her vehicle during a traffic stop at Unionville Road in Franklin Township.
March 24 — Garrin Lamar Clem Ross, 22, of Youngstown, Ohio, was charged with harassment and stalking for allegedly violating a protection from abuse order in November.
Police said Ross sent threatening text messages to a protected party, and a victim reported several incidents involving Ross from September to November.
March 24 — Isaac L. Smith, 20, of McMurray, Washington County, was charged with public drunkenness, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest in relation to an incident March 10.
Police said they were dispatched to a Slippery Rock location where Smith was acting erratically. They attempted to subdue Smith but he resisted, and eventually was taken via ambulance to a hospital.
