SR borough supports first responders with federal funds
SLIPPERY ROCK — Slippery Rock Borough council voted to use their American Rescue Plan Act funds for police department salaries and to donate gear to the Slippery Rock Volunteer Fire Company at its meeting Tuesday night.
Council members also voted to request bids on planned improvements for selected streets in the borough.
More than $360,000 in already received American Rescue funds will go to support the police department, according to borough manager Shawn Pugh. Council President Jeff Campbell said their plans for the funds follow the strict criteria set out by the federal government.
