Downtown Butler got a refresh treatment Saturday, just in time for spring.

Adults and children alike flocked to city streets Saturday morning with their gloves, leaf blowers, screwdrivers and other supplies in hand to pick up trash and clear brush and plant debris at Spring Cleanup Day organized by Butler Downtown.

The effort involved individual volunteers, but also members of the Butler Garden Club, who brought brooms and dustpans with them to clear brush and make the sidewalks shine.

Some volunteers used screwdrivers to dig weeds out from between sidewalk squares.
