SRU baseball wins 10th straight
SLIPPERY ROCK — No. 20 Slippery Rock University pushed its baseball winning streak to 10 games Tuesday with a 17-9 non-conference victory over Lock Haven at Critchfield Park.
The Rock (28-9) has the fourth-longest active winning streak in all of NCAA Division II, trailing only Illinois Springfield (15), St. Cloud State (13) and Southern New Hampshire (11).
SRU banged out 18 hits. Alex Robenolt had two home runs, a triple, double, three RBI and five runs scored. He now has 10 homers and leads The Rock with 45 RBI in 37 games. Koby Bubash homered, singled and had four RBI while Luke Trueman homered and singled.
Joel Spishock, Eddie Morris and Connor Hamilton all added two hits for SRU. Eoin Rossman, one of six Rock pitchers, picked up his first collegiate win. He scattered four hits and a walk over three shutout innings.
SRU hosts Pitt-Johnstown in a PSAC West doubleheader at 1 p.m. Friday before traveling to Johnstown to complete the four-game series with a doubleheader on Saturday.
