The Pennsylvania Department of Health is transitioning its COVID-19 online dashboard updates to only Wednesday afternoons. The next time the various dashboards will be updated is May 4.

A news release from the department said the COVID-19 pandemic is not over, and staff members are continually monitoring trends to gain a comprehensive picture of what is occurring across the commonwealth. The shift to weekly updates will provide more meaningful trends as the staff anticipates fluctuations in data during this phase of the pandemic.

More than 40 other states have already shifted to less than daily data posting, according to the news release.

Residents are still encouraged to use the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s community tracker website to help determine what prevention steps to take based on the latest data.
