Two transported in afternoon Chicora crash

One patient was flown to a hospital and another was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital via ambulance at around 4:30 p.m. Friday when their van rolled over into the porch of a house at 206 W. Slippery Rock St. in Chicora.

Ray Emery, assistant chief of the Chicora Volunteer Fire Department, said the van sustained heavy damage in the crash and the house sustained minimal damage, as well.

The driver and one passenger were the only people involved in the single-vehicle crash, Emery said.

No one inside the house was injured in the crash, and by the time he arrived on scene, the homeowner was outside speaking with officials, he continued.

Butler Ambulance Service, East Butler Ambulance and state police also responded to the scene. Emery said the crews cleared the scene at around 6 p.m.
