CRANBERRY TWP — Cranberry’s communication with its residents was recognized by a state organization.

Cranberry Township on Monday received the 31st annual Outstanding Citizen Communication Award for a Township with a Population Over 5,000 from the Pennsylvania State Association of Township Supervisors, or PSATS.

PSATS presented Cranberry with the award to recognize its achievements in communicating current township issues via print and other media.

The township also received top honors in the newsletters, social media and audio-visual communications categories. Cranberry also tied for second and won third place in the audio-visual communications category; received second place honors for “other publications;” and won third place in the website category.

“Our various communication platforms not only allow us to provide information to our residents, business owners and visitors, but also lets us share their stories and support them in becoming active participants in the community,” said Tina Fedko, Cranberry’s communications director. “The communications department takes full advantage of the use of modern technology to communicate effectively and efficiently with our residents while working tirelessly to uphold their trust.”

PSATS’ contest attracted entries from across the commonwealth in eight categories, including printed and electronic newsletters, most improved newsletters, other publications, audio-visual communication, cable TV programs, social media, and websites. In all, 31 townships submitted 102 entries for this year’s competition, and 17 individual townships won awards.
