SLIPPERY ROCK — Susan Heiss figures she’s making up for lost time.

Basketball stars back in the day at Butler High School, Leatha Dudeck Baker and Jodie Imbrie Smith never figured they would return to the court. But they did.

Senior Olympics of Western Pa., a senior citizen basketball organization for women, put five teams on the floor recently during the 2022 Rivalry at the Rock 3-on-3 Tournament at Slippery Rock University’s Aebersold Recreation Center. They were joined by teams from Texas, Virginia and Michigan.

The event served as a qualifier for the National Senior Games, slated for July 2023 in Pittsburgh.
