Rock baseball advances in PSAC tourney
SLIPPERY ROCK — It took extra innings, but the Slippery Rock University baseball team came out on top of their playoff-opening matchup with Shippensburg, 4-3, Wednesday at Jack Critchfield Park.
With two away in the Rock tenth, Jon Kozarian drove in Koby Bubash, who reached first base on a bunt and got to third after a Joe Ehland sacrifice and an Abraham Mow groundout.
It was Bubash’s second run of the day, as he also belted a solo home run to right center in the seventh frame.
SRU will play Millersville Thursday at 10 a.m. The Marauders were 10-0 winners over California (Pa.) Wednesday.
