Skies are darkening above Butler County Monday morning as weather experts are calling for showers and possible severe thunderstorms.
The National Weather Service of Pittsburgh around 3:14 a.m. placed a hazardous weather outlook on the county.
“Isolated severe thunderstorms are possible this morning through early afternoon,” the alert said. “Damaging wind gusts and hail are the main hazards.”
In a 7 a.m. Tweet, the service updated this forecast to include heavy downpours and hail sized up to a nickel.
According to the service’s forecast, the weather should break during the afternoon, and Monday night should be clear.
