3 nonprofits announce departure of shared chief executive officer
Three nonprofit organizations that assist county residents, other nonprofits, government entities and for profit businesses announced the departure of their shared chief executive officer, Michael Robb.
The Alliance for Nonprofit Resources, Center for Community Resources and Nonprofit Development Corporation announced the departure took effect May 12.
“Mike has played a critical role in the development and success of the organizations with his inspiring leadership and we wish him the best of luck in his future endeavors. We sincerely thank him for his 16 years of service between all three agencies,” reads the announcement that was signed by James Hrabosky, ANR board president, Audrianna Bly, CCR board president, and Alice Nunes, NDC board president.
None of the board presidents or Robb could be reached for comment.
While the organizations look to hire a new CEO, Christopher Lunn will serve as interim CEO of ANR and NDC, and Teresa Hewitt will serve as CCR’s interim CEO.
Robb, of Cabot, was named CEO of the organizations in 2005 after being employed as the director of program operations for FamilyLinks, a Pittsburgh human services organization.
ANR provides administrative services to nonprofit organizations, governmental entities, managed care organizations and for-profit businesses. ANR uses a network of specialists and professionals to work under contract, or on a project-by-project basis.
CCR provides supportive services for individuals and families seeking information, referral and service coordination in the fields of mental health, intellectual disabilities, substance abuse and other human service needs. CCR works with other human service agencies to identify needs in the community and effectively responding to locate, coordinate and monitor services.
NDC helps individuals, nonprofit organizations and government entities obtain technical assistance, affordable space, supported employment and funding.
Robb also served as the head of Community Partnership Inc. under the shared leadership arrangement with the other organizations.
On Monday, the CP board promoted Sandra Curry from manager to executive director.
She said CP was not involved in Robb’s departure, but the organization will continue its working relationships with the other nonprofits.
“We’re still affiliated, but not as closely as we were,” Curry said. “We’re no longer under common executive leadership. Our relationship with the other organizations is unchanged.“
Robb, who has a bachelor’s degree in psychology and philosophy from John Carroll University and a master’s degree in psychology and counseling from Slippery Rock University, has been recognized many times for his leadership.
Among honors and awards, he received the 2020 Jean B. Purvis Community Cornerstone Award from the community clinic of the same name and the CEO of the Year Award from the Nonprofit Partnership in 2020.
In addition, Robb serves as an elected supervisor in Winfield Township and is a soccer coach at Knoch High School.
This story was updated at 7:31 p.m. Thursday, May 19 to reflect that Curry was promoted to her new role by the CP board, not CCR board as initially reported.
