BUTLER — Butler Downtown hosted the first Foodie Friday of the summer at the 205 North Main Street parking lot, where hundreds of people gathered for the occasion.

Food trucks and vendors lined the parking lot while music played into the evening.

Amanda Dingey, owner of Studecakers Gourmet Cupcakes, was one of the vendors at the event. She said she brings her trailer to community events and markets within about 30 miles of Ford City to sell.

“After Easter and in April is when food trucks start to really take off every year,” Dingey said. “It’s our high season.”

Foodie Friday takes place from 5:30-9 p.m. every third Friday of the month throughout the summer.
