Some parks to see upgrades this summer
Looking for an easy outdoor activity close to home once school finishes up? Parks and green spaces across Butler County will see renovations in the coming months, some in time for summer, bringing new amenities to residents.
In Adams Township, a new water line is being put in to benefit new pavilions, and baseball lights are being added to the Rotary field at Adams Township Community Park.
An upcoming pickleball field project is scheduled to be finished during the summer.
In Middlesex Township, finishing touches are wrapping up on a walking trail that encircles the perimeter of Middlesex Township Community Park.
A golf outing scheduled for June 10 at Pheasant Ridge Golf Club in Gibsonia will benefit the installation of a new pavilion at the park. A new playground, funded by a $204,500 grant from the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources and a $10,000 grant from the Butler County Parks Renovation Program, is scheduled to open in June.
In the city of Butler, construction will soon begin on a new multipurpose field at Father Marinaro Park that can be used for soccer or football.
