County residents should dust off their galoshes and slickers this week, as a series of showers and storms could sweep the county Tuesday through Friday.

According to Jared Rackley of the National Weather Service of Pittsburgh, showers and thunderstorms are likely early Tuesday and expected to linger.

“A cold front is moving through (Tuesday), that’s what’s bringing the rain,” he said. “Temperatures will be 10 degrees cooler than (Monday) and cool off during the night to around 56 degrees.”

A slight chance of showers remains through 2 p.m. Wednesday, with temperatures nearing 78 degrees in the day and 55 degrees in the evening. Otherwise, the forecast is partly sunny for majority of the day.
