Former booster president accused of stealing from association
A former president of the Seneca Valley Youth Girls Lacrosse Booster Association has been accused of stealing thousands of dollars during her tenure, according to charging documents.
Adams Township Police filed charges May 25 against Elise Dreakford, 48, of Seven Fields, including six felony counts of forgery, two felony counts of theft and one felony count of possessing stolen property. She also is charged with two misdemeanor counts of theft.
Dreakford was arraigned on the charges May 26 before District Judge Amy Marcinkiewicz and was released on $25,000 unsecured bond.
Police said discovery of the alleged thefts came after Dreakford resigned as president in March 2019 after which new leadership uncovered discrepancies in the association’s account.
“(The new president) checked the account and noticed a deposit in the amount of $10,500 which seemed suspicious,” police said. “Upon further investigation, she found that (the association) had spent $10,775 in July 2019 and $3,500 in August 2019.”
