As Cranberry Township continues to grow, so will the Seneca Valley School District.

In a residential development update at Monday’s school board meeting, Tracy Vitale, district superintendent, said municipalities in the district are required to report residential development plans to the school district.

“Cranberry Township has been very proactive,” Vitale said.

She said the Crescent development planned for 114 acres near the UPMC Lemieux Sports Center will have 790 residential units.

That plan, which was approved earlier this month by township supervisors, will see a Phase 1 that will consist of 46 single family residential lots, 103 townhouse units and 288 apartment units.

Vitale said the Breckenridge plan, which has preliminary township approval, will include 112 townhouses to be built on Freedom Road.
