Barney Roy W. Koerner, 64, of Chicora, formerly of Bellevue, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 12, 2022, in his home.

He was born in Pittsburgh on June 30, 1957, and was the son of the late Harry and Marion (Young) Koerner.

Barney was always a smiling face and a kindhearted man, who will truly be missed by those who knew him. He had a love for traveling the world and meeting new people throughout his career. He had a green thumb and could always be found working in his yard, was a talented guitarist who loved music, and liked spending time at his local watering hole with his friends.

Surviving are his three daughters whom he loved fiercely, Cara (Kyle, and granddaughter Eleanor), Cassie (Rob), and Christy (Diego).

He is also survived by his ex-wife and best friend, Marcia Koerner; his brother, Harry “Sparky” Koerner; his sister, Donna Wolstoncroft; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Harry and Marion (Young) Koerner; and his younger brother, Mark Koerner.

KOERNER — Family and friends of Barney Roy W. Koerner, who died Sunday, June 12, 2022, will be received from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at SPENCER D. GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 140 New Castle Road, Butler.

Burial will be held privately in Pittsburgh.
