Pickleball courts coming to Middlesex
MIDDLESEX TWP — Supervisors approved a renovation project on Wednesday that would bring pickleball to the Middlesex Township Community Park by adding new lines to one of the existing tennis courts in the park.
Two courts for the increasingly popular racket sport would be located back-to-back where one of the township’s current two tennis courts is now located.
The contract approved at the meeting plans for the resurfacing of the basketball court and tennis courts, and the inclusion of pickleball lines in the tennis courts by the COSTARS program participant Pave Care. The project will cost $54,904.50.
Township manager Adam Hartwig said the project should begin this summer and hopefully finish in August.
“It’s temperature dependent, when they put the material down to resurface and everything,” he said. “As soon as they get us on the schedule — that’s why we wanted to approve now.”
