Police Reports

The following items were collected from various police departments and district courts:

Adams Township

June 7 — Christopher E. Mansfield, 39, Pittsburgh, was charged with misdemeanors terroristic threats and simple assault after police said he pinned his girlfriend to a bed, constricting her breathing, and said ‘I have dug a hole for you.’

Butler City

June 6 — Donald E. Piper, 55, of Butler, was charged with a misdemeanor for possessing drugs after police said they stopped him May 21 on South McKean Street for a traffic violation. Police said upon searching the vehicle, suspected heroin was found.

June 6 — Justin D. Woods, 25, of Butler, was charged with misdemeanors driving under the influence and possessing drug paraphernalia after police said he was found passed out in his vehicle June 29, 2021 at 100 CDC Drive. Police said field sobriety test showed he was impaired, and a later blood test showed Woods’ blood had traces of THC and Fentanyl. Police said there was a marijuana pipe also found in the vehicle.

June 6 — Donna R. Shelton, 59, of Butler, was charged with misdemeanor simple assault after she told police she struck a man over the head with a cane.

Butler County Detectives

June 6 — Leah R. Testa, 32, of Mars, was charged with two misdemeanors for possessing drug paraphernalia after police said Methamphetamine, nine glass smoking pipes, and other items were found during a Butler County Probation officer home check of Testa’s residence.

Butler Township

June 7 — Robert Overly, 27, of Prospect, was traveling West on Route 422 when police said he hydroplaned, struck a guardrail and hit a concrete barrier. Police said he sustained a minor head injury.

Cranberry Township

June 6 — Canton D. Blakey, 32, of New Castle, was charged with misdemeanors conspiracy, retail theft, receiving stolen property and corruption of minors after police said he and his girlfriend left Best Buy with almost $600 worth of merchandise without paying for it.

Slippery Rock University Police

June 6 — Three individuals were charged with two misdemeanors theft from a motor vehicle at Morrow Field House staff parking lot May 22.

Police said Christopher J. Rucinski, 22, of New Castle, Elijah J. Sowerdy, 18, of New Castle and Ryan Smiley, 20, of Bessemer, were observed trying to take items from vehicles in the lot.

State Police, Butler

June 6 — George J. Barkin, 70, Renfrew, was charged with two misdemeanor first offense DUIs after police said they stopped him June 4 at Greenwood Drive and Benbrook Road, Butler Township. Police said field sobriety tests showed he was impaired, and a later breath tests showed Barkin’s blood-alcohol content at .104%. In Pennsylvania, the legal limit is .08%.

June 6 — Andrew M. Mesko, 29, of Ellwood City, was charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia after police said they stopped him April 25 on the 422 South Shore ramp, Muddy Creek Township. Police said marijuana, a THC vape pen and THC oil were found in the vehicle following a search.

State Police, Bureau of Criminal Investigation

June 6 — Ricardo N. Reeves, 44, of New Castle, was charged with three misdemeanors for drug sales and a misdemeanor for use and possession of drug paraphernalia after police said a search of Reeves’ home in West Liberty Borough was conducted. Police said bags of oxycodone, THC, a marijuana smoking pipe were found among other drug paraphernalia.
