Police Reports
The following items have been collected from various police departments and district courts:
June 14 — Victoria L. Elwood, 31, of Valencia, was charged with felony strangulation and misdemeanor simple assault after police said she punched, choked and pulled hair during a fight with her sister.
June 15 — Perry J. Ekas, 36, of Butler, was charged with three counts of reckless endangerment after police said he performed a hit-and-run at the intersection of Monroe Road and Route 356 on March 9. Police said he crashed into a vehicle while making a left hand turn and drove off.
June 15 — Denise L. Platt, 30, of Butler, was charged with felony aggravated assault and a public drunkenness summary charge after police said she attempted to punch hospital staff and Butler Ambulance workers when transferred to Butler Hospital and kicked a police officer.
June 12 — Megan M. Adkins, 29, of Natrona Heights, was charged with misdemeanor simple assault after police said she pepper-sprayed her boyfriend during an argument.
June 15 — Brent E. Vaughn, 46, of Phillipsburg, was charged with a misdemeanor for driving under the influence of a controlled substance after police said he crashed his vehicle at the intersection of Hindman Road and Route 356. Police said field sobriety tests showed he was impaired, and Vaughn admitted to taking Xanex and blood pressure medication prior to driving.
June 14 — Garret Malsch, 29, of Butler, was cited for driving at an unsafe speed after police said he rear-ended a vehicle on Route 68.
June 13 — Donald Stewart, 64, of Butler, drove into a ditch after losing control of his antique vehicle on N. Duffy Road, according to documents. Police said Stewart sustained some injuries but did not require immediate medical attention.
June 15 — Tegan V. Mueller, 22, of Butler, was charged with felony burglary and misdemeanors simple assault and criminal mischief after police said she spent the night at someone’s house, damaged a TV, then engaged in a fight with the homeowner. Police said Mueller was forced out of the residence and tried to regain entry, striking the door and threatening the homeowner.
June 15 — Travis R. Duttine, 28, of East Brady, was charged with a felony for possessing a prohibited firearm and a summary charge for carrying a loaded weapon after police said he injured himself with a handgun he was not permitted to have as a felon.
June 15 — William E. Evans, 43, of Saxonburg, was charged with two counts of theft after police said he was paid $1,800 to replace a furnace June 8 in Center Township. Police said the customer’s check was cashed for that amount, but they were never provided the furnace.
June 13 — Bruce V. Kohlhepp, 25, of Beaver, was charged with two misdemeanor DUIs and two misdemeanors for possessing marijuana after police said they stopped him on Route 422, Franklin Township. Police said field sobriety tests showed he was impaired, and a later blood test showed traces of marijuana in Kohlhepp’s blood. Police said a search of his vehicle produced three bags of suspected marijuana and a metal grinder.
June 10 — David F. Brown, 50, of Wexford, was charged with misdemeanor counts of DUI and driving with a suspended license after police said they stopped him May 30 on Route 422, Muddy Creek Township. Police said field sobriety tests showed Brown was impaired, and a later breath test showed his blood-alcohol content at 0.235%. In Pennsylvania, the legal limit is 0.08%.
