Out-of-county woman charged with local homicide; another likely sought

Nicole L. Schwartz

UPDATED: An Ellwood City woman has been charged with homicide in Butler County, but charging documents indicate another may have pulled the trigger.

State police filed charges over the weekend against Nicole L. Schwartz, 36, who was arraigned Saturday morning by District Judge Lewis Stoughton on two counts of homicide in relation to the death of Frederick Orr, 32, of Columbus.

Stoughton denied Schwartz bond, and she is now in Butler County Prison.

Orr’s body was found around 3:30 a.m. June 11 along Kelly Road, which spans a little less than 2 miles between East Portersville and Yellow Creek roads.

Butler County Coroner William Young III later confirmed Orr died from a fatal gunshot wound to the head.

According to charging documents, Schwartz was dating Orr before he went to jail, and while in jail, she started seeing another man named “K.”

Police said Schwartz picked Orr up from jail on June 10.

“’K’ was in the rear cargo area of (Schwartz’s) SUV and was covered in a blanket,” said the investigating officer.

Police said the couple stopped along Kelly Road, had him exit the vehicle and “K” shot and killed him.

This is a breaking news story.
