Ellwood City woman’s homicide case continued
An Ellwood City woman’s case involving homicide charges was continued on her behalf Wednesday.
Nicole L. Schwartz, 36, was scheduled to appear for a preliminary hearing before District Judge Joseph Nash, but the Butler County Public Defender’s office requested a continuance.
The continuance was granted, and a new hearing date has yet to be scheduled.
Schwartz was charged with felony homicide due to her alleged role in the killing of her ex-boyfriend Frederick Orr, 32, of Columbus, Ohio. Orr’s body was found around 3:30 a.m. June 11 along Kelly Road, which spans a little less than 2 miles between East Portersville and Yellow Creek roads in Muddy Creek Township. Police said Orr had multiple gunshot wounds, and an autopsy said the cause of death was a gunshot wound to the head.
Schwartz was charged along with a co-defendant, Daniel C. Lloyd, 19, of Pitcairn, who has yet to arrested.
According to charging documents, Schwartz picked up Orr in her SUV while Lloyd hid in the back seat. Police said Schwartz stopped the vehicle, and Lloyd shot Orr on the roadside.
